THE ROLE
The Senior Technical Consultant (L6) within Cisilion Professional Services is responsible for consulting, designing, planning, and implementing technical projects. Collaborating closely with Principal Technical Consultants, Presale Architects, and other teams, the role also supports Sales and Solutions teams by providing technical expertise to close sales and propose solutions that better serve our clients.
Responsibilities include delivering technical presentations, solution demonstrations, designing and configuring solutions, preparing proposals, bid responses, Statement of Work, and documentation such as HLD and LLD. All colleagues must be eligible for Security Clearance and adhere to Cisilion policies and GDPR best practices.
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
- 5+ years of hands-on SMB and Enterprise wired campus design and deployment experience.
- Extensive experience in designing and deploying:
- Cisco Catalyst and Nexus routing and switching, including traditional and software-defined solutions (SDA, Catalyst Center / DNAC)
- Cisco Catalyst SD-WAN and related services
- Cisco Secure Firewall and components (Management, Secure Client, Policy, NAT, AMP, URL Filtering, TLS Offload, IDS/IPS)
- Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) and integrations (SDA, 802.1X, EAP, pxGrid)
- Cisco SASE & SSE solutions
- Advanced routing protocols (BGP, MP-BGP, MPLS, VxLAN EVPN, ECMP, OSPF, Multicast)
- Advanced switching (Stack Wise Virtual, Spanning Tree, IGMP, QoS/CoS)
- VPNs (Site-to-Site, Remote Access, IPsec, SSL)
- A thorough understanding of:
- Layer-3 to Layer-7 firewalling, including migrations (e.g., Fortinet to Cisco)
- Cisco Wireless and integration with SMB and Enterprise networks
- Forward and Reverse Proxy, WAF technologies
- Network Access Control (NAC), 802.1X, EAP, PKI
- MFA/2FA/Duo
Knowledge of the following is advantageous but not mandatory:
- Cisco Computing (UCS, FI, SAN, Fibre Channel)
- HPE Aruba CPPM, Microsoft NPS
- Fortinet Forti Gate, Forti Switch, Forti Manager/Analyzer
- Palo Alto firewalls, Panorama, Strata Cloud
- Azure cloud networking
- Deploying virtual firewalls on cloud platforms
- Terraform and Ansible
- Leads technically from the front, setting standards for others.
- Maintains industry-recognized certifications, technical training, and vendor relationships.
- Exhibits excellent time management, planning, and communication skills.
- Demonstrates extensive commercial awareness to safeguard company interests.
- Has comprehensive knowledge of technical infrastructure hardware, software, and solutions.
- Delivers quality, consistency, and continuous improvement.
- Prior experience in IT services, channels, or value-added resellers is preferred.
