Location: Greater London

The Product Development Lead plays a critical role in shaping the vision and strategy for Quants product offerings, overseeing the entire product development lifecycle, from ideation to execution, ensuring that our solutions not only align with market demands but also exceed customer expectations.

This role involves leading and mentoring a small and lean Team of Product Owners through a matrix leadership model. The discovery and design phase of our Product lifecycle will be managed and led by you, whilst the operational delivery of the product specifications, will be driven through our Engineering Teams. The sophistication of operating in this matrix model will require you to collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams, including engineering, marketing, and sales, to drive product innovation and ensure the successful launch of new offerings.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in product management with a proven track record of delivering successful financial and/or highly technical products in a fast‑paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Vision: Develop and implement a comprehensive product development strategy that aligns with the company's goals and enhances the overall user experience.
  • User Research: Promote and facilitate user research initiatives to gather insights informing design decisions.
  • Problem Focused: Ensure customer problems are clearly defined and well understood across the business.
  • Product Vision: Define clear visions for each of our products in collaboration with key stakeholders
  • Product Definition
    :
    Collaborate with key stakeholders within the business to define initial high level product requirements based on customer problems and needs.
  • Collaboration:Collaborate with Product Owners, Engineers, and Stakeholders to define detailed product requirements and refine design specifications.
  • Customer-Centric Design: Advocate for customer-centric design principles throughout the product development process, ensuring user needs are prioritized and addressed.
  • Design Quality: Maintain high-quality design standards, overseeing the review process to ensure consistency and alignment with brand guidelines.
  • Performance Metrics: Establish metrics to measure design effectiveness and user satisfaction, using data to iterate and improve design outcomes.
  • Matrix Leadership: You will provide technical leadership and inspiration to the Product Owners, whilst being comfortable in navigating a matrix leadership model – where the day to day operational delivery activities of the Product Owners, is managed through our Head of Engineering
  • Mentoring:Mentor and develop Product Owners, providing technical feedback and guidance on best practices, tools, and design thinking methodologies.
Required Skills and Experience
  • Product Design Expertise: Proven experience in product design, with a strong portfolio showcasing design projects that demonstrate creativity and impact.
  • Leadership

    Experience:

    Experience in a leadership role, managing and mentoring Product Owners with a focus on fostering talent and collaboration.
  • User Research: Strong knowledge of user research methodologies, usability testing, and data analysis to inform design decisions.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Experience collaborating with cross‑functional teams, fostering relationships with stakeholders to drive design initiatives.
  • Design Tools: Proficiency in industry standard prototyping/wire framing tools
  • Agile Environment: Familiarity with Agile methodologies and working in fast‑paced project environments.
  • Communication

    Skills:

    Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate design concepts and rationale to diverse audiences.
