Role Overview
We are seeking two experienced Test Automation Engineers to join our Testing Practice, with an immediate deployment opportunity to work onsite with one of our largest Wealth Management clients, based in London. This is with a view to supporting a major systems integration programme. These roles will sit within a dedicated test automation team, contributing to the design, build and execution of automated testing solutions across a core platform.
The successful candidates will bring strong automation skills, solid testing fundamentals, and the confidence to operate within a complex integration environment. Financial Services experience is preferred but not limited to a specific sub-sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain coded test automation frameworks to support integration and regression testing
- Contribute to the overall test automation strategy, ensuring alignment with delivery timelines and risk profiles
- Work closely with developers, testers, and product teams to embed shift-left testing practices
- Execute and maintain automated tests across UI, API, and integration layers
- Make risk-based decisions on what should be automated versus manually tested
- Ensure automation solutions are scalable, maintainable, and reusable
- Support defect identification, triage, and resolution using industry-standard tooling
- Participate actively in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives
- Contribute to exploratory and manual testing where appropriate, particularly for new functionality and edge cases
- Strong experience in coded test automation, with C# highly preferred
- Strong Java experience will also be considered
- Solid understanding of Object-Oriented programming principles
- Experience using Visual Studio or similar IDEs
- Hands-on experience with:
- Playwright (preferred)
- Spec Flow / Req Nroll or similar BDD frameworks
- Experience with API and integration testing, using tools such as Postman
- Proficiency with JIRA, Azure Dev Ops, and Confluence (or equivalent tools)
- Strong understanding of test automation best practices, including test maintenance and scalability
- Experience applying risk-based testing approaches
- Comfortable working within Agile / Scrum delivery environments
- 5+ years’ experience in Quality Engineering or Test Automation, with a demonstrable track record on large or greenfield programmes
- Experience working on complex system integrations
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and automated test execution
- Familiarity with accessibility, usability, or non-functional testing concepts
