Your role and responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced Scrum Master to support IBM delivery teams working with public sector, and defence customers. In this role, you will guide cross‑functional teams through complex application development and maintenance projects, ensuring delivery aligns with stringent client, contractual, and regulatory requirements. You will be responsible for managing scope, cost, and timelines while fostering strong collaboration across diverse technical and stakeholder groups.

Your work will focus on supporting the delivery and continuous improvement of critical systems and processes for government and defence organisations. You will coordinate implementation schedules, drive operational excellence, and ensure all solutions meet strategic, security, and compliance standards. This role demands strong leadership, a solid technical understanding, and the ability to operate proactively in high‑assurance, mission‑focused environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead project planning, execution, and delivery within agreed scope, budget, and security constraints.

  • Manage and support cross‑functional teams, including IBM staff, client personnel, and third‑party partners.

  • Oversee the implementation and enhancement of key decisioning, workflow, or operational systems used across public sector and defence programmes.

  • Drive continuous improvement of processes, controls, and delivery practices in line with government and security requirements.

  • Provide expertise in risk, compliance, and system assurance, ensuring alignment with regulatory, security, and organisational standards.

Required technical and professional expertise
  • Extensive experience operating as a Scrum Master and Project Manager within complex, high‑assurance environments

  • Strong team leadership skills, capable of guiding cross‑functional delivery teams in fast‑paced defence programmes
