Barclays Legal is introducing new Technology (including a new AI‑enabled legal tool) to enhance the efficiency, accuracy and consistency of legal work across the function. To support successful adoption, and ongoing embedment of legal technology tools, we are recruiting a Legal Technology Adoption and Embedment Lead who will design, deliver and continually refine change management activity to support colleagues at all levels in optimal use of available technology.
The successful candidate will deliver high‑quality training sessions on various legal tech that are clear, practical and accessible to users with varying levels of digital confidence. The ideal candidate will combine strong change management and training capability with an understanding of technology and AI, and either be a qualified lawyer or have experience working with lawyers in private practice or in‑house.
To be successful as a Legal Training Lead, you should have experience with
- Experience working in a legal environment—either in private practice or in‑house—or familiarity with legal workflows, terminology and common pain points.
- Proven experience designing and delivering training to professional audiences, ideally in a technical, digital or change‑related environment.
- Strong communicator with excellent presentation and facilitation skills. Ability to explain complex technical or AI concepts in a simple, practical and approachable way.
- Comfortable working with technology systems and learning new tools quickly.
- Strong engagement skills and confidence working with senior professionals.
Some other highly valued skills may include
- Legally qualified.
- Familiarity with the legal tech market and available legal tech tools
- Understanding of how generative AI and legal AI tools support research, drafting, knowledge management, document analysis or review.
- Experience developing user guides, e-learning modules or multimedia training assets.
- Exposure to change management, user adoption or legal operations work.
You may be assessed on the key critical skills relevant for success in role, such as risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen strategic thinking and digital and technology, as well as job‑specific technical skills.
This is a permanent fulltime position based in either London, Glasgow or Manchester.
Purpose of the roleTo support the organisation, achieve its strategic objectives by ensuring the business is ready to receive the agreed change (address business problems and opportunities), ensuring that change initiatives are successfully assessed and implemented to enable them to be embedded in the organisation.
AccountabilitiesIdentification and analysis of business impact and opportunities that require change within the organisation.
Development of business readiness strategies that will help to ensure the successful implementation of change initiatives.
Communication with stakeholders, including senior management, project teams, and external partners, to ensure that they are informed about change initiatives and that their needs and expectations are being met.
Collaboration with Client Readiness, Operational Readiness & Tech Delivery to ensure business, sales, operations, client servicing and functional partners are prepared for a smooth transition of technology delivery into BAU (including Target Operating Model, Training, Communications, Service Agreements.).
Management of resistance to change, ensuring that stakeholders are engaged and that their concerns are addressed.
Review of business readiness plans and status reports in conjunction with change delivery managers to ensure business readiness activities completed on time including newly identified risks, issues and dependencies.
Collaboration with project teams to ensure that change initiatives are aligned with project objectives and that change management activities are integrated into project plans.
Provision of guidance and support to business stakeholders, ensuring that they have the necessary skills and knowledge to implement change initiatives successfully.
