User Experience Researcher

Are you a UX / User Researcher who enjoys working on complex, high-impact, data-heavy systems where evidence, insight and usability genuinely matter?

We’re looking for a mid–senior level UX Researcher to join a leading consultancy, supporting a nationally significant organisation delivering critical services used across government, industry, and the public.

This role is ideal for someone comfortable navigating technical subject matter
, multiple stakeholder groups and evidence-led decision making
—and who can translate research into clear, actionable outcomes in constrained and highly regulated environments.

• Location: Ideally hybrid (London) but open to remote, with some client visits

• Start Date: ASAP (February).
• Duration: 3+ months (likely 3–6 months, with potential to extend)
• Security Clearance:
  Current, active UK Security Clearance (SC) is essential

• Planning and leading end-to-end user research across complex digital products and services.
• Engaging with a wide range of users, including technical, operational, policy and delivery stakeholders
  .
• Applying a blend of qualitative and quantitative research methods to uncover user needs, behaviours and pain points.
• Synthesising findings into clear, actionable insights that inform design, delivery and strategic decisions.
• Working closely with designers, product managers and multidisciplinary delivery teams within a consultancy environment.
• Supporting evidence-based decision making in a data-heavy, scientific and operational context.

• Strong experience delivering research on complex, data-intensive digital platforms or services.
• Confidence running research independently
  , from discovery through to evaluation.
• Experience working in the public sector and/or within highly complex, regulated or data-heavy organisations (essential).
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and facilitation skills.
• A pragmatic, insight-led mindset with a focus on real-world impact.
• Current, active UK Security Clearance (SC).
