IT Principal Consultant - Active SC, HPC, Beowulf

Up to £610 (Inside IR35)

20 day contract

We are seeking an experienced HPC Expert to lead containerisation initiatives for high-performance computing environments. The role involves advising on best practices, optimizing HPC workflows, and engaging with customers through workshops and technical interviews.

Key requirements:

Proven active as an IT Consultant with Active SC (Security Clearance)
Hands-on experience with Beowulf clusters
Strong knowledge of Slurm Job Scheduling
Expertise in MPI-optimized container images, including:
OpenMPI with Apptainer (SIF) and Podman/Buildah tooling

Nice to have:

Ability to conduct HPC infrastructure interviews and containerisation workshops
Familiarity with SDLC, Jupyter ecosystem, and MPI
Knowledge of:
Singularity, SIF format, HPC workflows, CFD software (e.g., OpenFOAM), Docker, Kubernetes as HPC runtime, Run:

AI and GPU slicing
