Murex Support Lead - Level Up

Working for a Corporate Investment Bank in the City of London, you will operate as a key member of the Murex Support Team, providing expert‑level support for the Murex platform, ensuring stability, performance, and rapid issue resolution for business‑critical operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide advanced support for all Murex‑related incidents, service requests, and user queries, ensuring timely resolution within agreed SLAs.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical and functional issues across Murex modules (Front Office, Risk, Back Office, Datamart, etc.).
  • Monitor system health, perform root cause analysis, and proactively identify potential issues to minimize downtime.
  • Collaborate closely with business users (trading, sales, risk, operations) to understand and address their support needs.
  • Liaise with upstream/downstream IT teams and vendors to upscale and resolve critical incidents.
  • Maintain and update support documentation, knowledge bases, and runbooks.
  • Participate in environment management (refreshes, patching, configuration) as required for support continuity.
  • Support release management by validating and testing new Murex releases or patches from a support perspective.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of support processes, automation, and monitoring tools.
  • Lead on projects and BAU support issues as part of a team and as an individual contributor.
  • Demonstrate a strong sense of urgency to ensure key issues are managed and fixed within defined SLA’s.
  • Manage and contribute to the issue tracker, ensuring the board is up to date and all issues are current.
  • Communicate clearly and precisely (oral & written) to stakeholders.

  • Support the Global Markets, Commodities business in Murex.
  • Market data (real‑time contribution, end‑of‑day) for assets.
  • Risk reporting (strike maps, scenario reporting).
  • Reporting for the support function (deal valuation, market data).

  • Help with user needs collection and anticipation.
  • Analyze these needs and define required specifications.
  • Propose multiple solutions and provide comparative studies to sponsors.
  • Implement and deliver retained solutions.
  • Support and document solutions.
  • Track bugs and evolve software continuously.
  • Recommend architecture, technologies, and IT solutions.
  • Analyze, solve problems, and handle escalation.
  • Conduct training and skill assessments at regular intervals.

Reporting
  • Provide timely progress updates to direct management as required.
Key Skills (Mandatory)
  • 8‑10 years of experience working with Murex in a support role with a BA background, with deep expertise in troubleshooting and issue resolution.
  • Experience implementing and supporting Murex v3.1 with a focus on Front Office; earlier versions are not acceptable.
  • Experience implementing both linear and non‑linear products in Murex.
  • Ability to build multiple strategies/payoffs per business needs.
  • Strong exposure to the Front Office module in Murex.

  • Experience supporting multiple asset classes (Commodities, FX, IRD, Credit, etc.) in Murex.
  • Expertise in capital markets across different asset classes and end‑to‑end trade lifecycle knowledge in Murex.
  • Experience with binary version updates.
  • Ability to perform risk assessment on cross‑asset impact for releases.
  • Experience integrating flex pricing models and debugging core problems.
  • Strong experience with static data setup in Murex (generators, curve setup, Datamart, etc.).
  • Experience with Livebook, PVLAR, real‑time pricing, Risk Matrix; RBPnL an advantage.
  • Past experience validating releases before production.
  • Multitasking and handling multiple Murex issues concurrently.
