This is a brand-new role at Goodman Jones LLP, created as part of the firm’s continued growth and investment in audit technology, training and smarter ways of working. Goodman Jones’ Audit & Accounts team is now over 50 people strong – the largest department in the firm.

As the team grows, there is a clear need to ensure systems, workflows, training and digital capability evolve in a thoughtful, scalable and future-focused way. That’s where this role comes in. This position sits at the heart of the audit function, focused on systems optimisation, training, digital best practice and the practical use of audit technology, automation and AI. It is not a client-delivery role and carries no audit portfolio.

Instead, your impact is felt through how effectively the audit team works, learns and delivers. You’ll be supporting Goodman Jones’ long-term mission to ensure its people, its clients and the profession flourish, by helping audit teams work smarter, improve consistency and embed sustainable, future-fit audit processes. The Role Sitting at the centre of the Audit & Accounts function, you’ll work closely with audit leadership, the IT team and the People team to shape how systems are used, how teams learn and how audit work is delivered. This is a systems, optimisation and training role, focused on how a 50-person audit team works day-to-day. Key areas of responsibility include:
• Optimising and embedding core audit systems including Case Ware Cloud, CCH, Trullion, MS Dynamics workflows, iManage and Microsoft 365
• Designing digital best practice, workflows, templates, guidance and training resources
• Delivering structured training and onboarding across all levels
• Strengthening digital confidence across the department
• Supporting the safe, practical rollout of audit technology, automation and AI-enabled processes
• Testing, refining and championing smarter, more efficient ways of working
• Acting as the link between Audit, IT, People and external software vendors
• Ensuring digital infrastructure supports high-quality, scalable audit delivery Who Will Thrive in This Role You’re likely currently working in audit at Assistant Manager, Manager or Senior Manager level, ACA or ACCA qualified, with the technical credibility that comes from practice experience. More importantly, you’re someone colleagues turn to when systems don’t work, who notices better ways to structure workflows, experiments with new features and automation because it interests you, builds templates or improves processes because it helps the team, feels energised by audit technology and AI, enjoys explaining tools and making technology feel accessible, and thinks about how work is done, not just what needs doing.
