The role entails the day‑to‑day providing IT support at a first‑line level to internal customers, supporting both Colas Rail and Colas Ltd in the UK as part of a Shared Service.
Person Specification- Able to generate innovative solutions in work situations.
- Utilize all work‑based opportunities to develop and progress within the job role.
- Proven ability to work independently and use initiative.
- Good documentation skills for regular updating of procedures, processes, change management, and project updates.
- Experience working in a busy and demanding office environment either independently or as part of a team.
- Good communicator and good coordinator.
- Rigorous and methodical.

- Taking and logging of calls on Service Now.
- Creating, deleting and updating user accounts.
- IT ordering, including renewals of licences and software agreements authorized by the IT Director.
- Control and match invoices and scan all documentation.
- Maintain asset and software database.
- Update and maintain software licence database.
- Manage starter/leaver process from an IT perspective.
- Manage and chase IT assets (laptops, PCs, smartphones, printers etc.) from staff who have left.
- Scanning of order forms, user forms and other important documents.
- Create and manage IT internal business procedures as guided by the IT team.
- Maintain department procedures, processes and forms (user creation etc. – guided by the IT team).
- Any other reasonable duties as required from time to time.
The role will also need to regularly interact and interface with:
- Internal and external customers.
- CDS.
