Role overview:

We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Marketing Automation Specialist to join our Digital Marketing Operations team. This role will be central to ensuring our marketing automation platforms — primarily Hub Spot (newly implemented) and Dotdigital — are optimised, efficient, and delivering measurable impact.

In the first phase, the role will focus on developing our Hub Spot platform, including migrating and consolidating audiences, automated journeys, and campaigns from Dotdigital and other legacy systems. The Marketing Automation Specialist is the platform owner, responsible for ensuring it supports effective campaign delivery, lead management, and customer engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

Platform Ownership & Development
  • Act as the primary owner of Hub Spot (and Dotdigital during the transition), ensuring systems are configured and optimised for business needs
  • Lead the migration of audiences and automated workflows from Dotdigital and other legacy platforms to Hub Spot
  • Ensure integrations between Hub Spot, CRM, and other martech tools are working effectively
Campaign Management & Execution
  • Manage the email marketing calendar, ensuring optimum volume and avoiding scheduling clashes
  • Create and manage email templates that deliver a consistent user experience and enable ongoing optimisation
  • Build and optimise automated workflows and journeys for different audience segments and lifecycle stages
  • Ensure proper lead routing and segmentation across platforms
  • Maintain clean, high-quality contact data with list management processes and regular re‑engagement campaigns
  • Support reporting requirements by ensuring accurate tracking of campaign and workflow performance
  • Stay up-to-date on marketing automation best practices and new Hub Spot features
  • Continuously analyse performance, test improvements, and drive higher engagement and conversion rates
  • Share knowledge and best practices with the wider marketing team to upskill contributors
What will you need to succeed?

Experience:
  • Proven experience managing marketing automation platforms (must include Hub Spot)
  • Hands‑on experience with email marketing, workflows, segmentation, and lead routing
Knowledge:
  • Strong understanding of marketing data, CRM integrations, and campaign tracking
Skills:
  • Analytical mindset with ability to optimise campaigns and workflows based on data insights
  • Highly organised, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
