Technical Security Engineer

Position: Technical Security Engineer (Permanent)
Security Technical Engineer (CCTV, Access Control & Intruder Alarms) – London / M25 – £44,000–£48,000 Basic (OTE £58,000+)

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Security Technical Engineer to join Avanza Intelligent Security, a well-established, privately owned security systems specialist with over 25 years’ industry experience. Avanza design, install, maintain, and support high-end CCTV, Access Control, and Intruder Alarm systems for prestigious commercial clients.

This is a full-time, field-based role focused on advanced technical support, commissioning, system configuration, and planned preventative maintenance across high-profile commercial environments.

* Salary £44,000 – £48,000 basic per annum

* On-call rota: 1 in 8

* Monday to Friday, 8am–5pm (40 hours per week, 1 hour lunch)

Role & Responsibilities

* Commissioning, testing, and handover of advanced security systems

* Providing technical support both remotely and on-site

* Pre-builds, system configuration, and server setup

* Fault finding, diagnostics, callouts, and system repairs

* Software, firmware, and server-based planned preventative maintenance (PPM)

* System takeovers, upgrades, and improvements

* Delivering user training and ongoing client support

* Working across commercial sectors including financial services, high-end retail, luxury hospitality, and education

* Primarily within the M25, with occasional travel to surrounding counties, the UK, and Europe

Skills & Experience Required

* Minimum 5 years’ experience within the electronic security industry

* Strong knowledge of Access Control systems:
Gallagher, Avigilon, Paxton, Maxxess

* Strong knowledge of IP CCTV systems:
Avigilon, Milestone, Hanwha, IDIS

* High-level technical knowledge of IP networks and servers

* Proven experience in commissioning, fault finding, and technical support

* Excellent communication and customer-facing skills

* Full UK driving licence
