We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer to join a high‑performing data team, delivering scalable and reliable data solutions within a complex enterprise environment. This is a hands‑on role, ideal for someone passionate about building robust data platforms and driving real business value from data.
Key Responsibilities- Design, build, and maintain data pipelines and ELT workflows on Databricks
, following Medallion architecture
. - Analyse data requirements and apply advanced data modelling techniques (including Data Vault
) and data quality frameworks. - Collaborate with data architects, analysts, product managers, and QA teams to deliver trusted data sets.
- Document data flows, transformations, and processes to support knowledge sharing and ongoing operations.
- Contribute to solution design, code reviews, and continuous platform improvement within Agile teams.
- Drive high‑quality, high‑performance data outcomes with a problem‑solving mindset.
- Strong hands‑on experience with SQL
, Python
, and data integration/ingestion patterns. - Proven expertise in Databricks
, Delta Lake
, notebooks, and modern data warehousing concepts. - Experience with ETL tools such as Informatica IICS and Azure Data Factory
. - Solid background working with Azure cloud platforms (preferred).
- Experience integrating and modelling insurance or reinsurance domain data (Lloyd's/specialty market experience highly desirable).
- Strong knowledge of on‑prem and cloud databases (e.g.
Oracle
, SQL Server
). - Familiarity with Agile delivery frameworks (Scrum, SAFe) and tools such as Jira and Azure Dev Ops
. - Understanding of data security considerations and tooling within modern data platforms.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, team‑focused approach.
- Professional certifications in Azure and/or Databricks
