Job Description & How to Apply Below
Permanent | Fully remote, competitive salary + bonus
We are looking for a hands‑on Data Migration Engineer to join a fast‑growing, acquisition‑led organisation.
Your core mission will be to migrate operational (CRM) and, in time, finance data from multiple legacy systems into Microsoft Dynamics, repeatedly, reliably, and under pressure.
Systems you'll work with:
- Bespoke, undocumented, and at times, home‑grown systems
- SaaS platforms (e.g. finance, field service, CRM‑style tools; some include Salesforce, but often not enterprise‑grade)
- Spreadsheets and imperfect real‑world data
This is a source‑to‑target, ETL‑heavy role requiring curiosity, resilience, and strong problem‑solving skills. You will be trusted to work independently, with minimal hand‑holding, in a demanding BAU + project environment.
What You'll Be Doing- Analyze each acquired business’s data (often undocumented)
- Understand and interrogate source and target systems (D365 / Dynamics)
- Perform source‑to‑target mapping
- Extract, cleanse, transform, and load data into Microsoft Dynamics using Python‑based ETL tooling
- Own data migration issues through to resolution, including post‑migration BAU support
- Investigate missing, incorrect, or inconsistent data under time pressure
- Support out‑of‑hours and weekend migrations when required
- Work closely with stakeholders who depend on accurate data to run the business
- Handle multiple business acquisitions over the coming year
- Experience with data migrations, CRM applications, ERP/finance systems
- Strong understanding of data structures, relational models, and transformations
- Hands‑on experience with ETL processes (tooling is secondary to understanding)
- Ability to work independently and hit the ground running
- Comfortable operating in high‑pressure, delivery‑focused environments
- Able to explain how you moved data, not just which tools you used
- Proficiency in Python (PySpark / Pandas / Num Py) and SQL for data transformation
- Experience migrating data and working with messy, real‑world data
- Exposure to Azure‑based environments (Data Lake, Fabric, etc.)
- High visibility, business‑critical role
- Direct ownership of outcomes
- Exposure to multiple systems and acquisitions
- Opportunity to become the go‑to data migration expert in the organisation
- High growth business = real career opportunity if desired.
Interviews are planned for the first week in January, for a Jan/Feb start. Please apply today for an immediate CV review; CVs will be reviewed prior to Christmas.
