Role Overview

We are seeking a proactive and experienced SEO Account Manager to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who combines technical SEO knowledge with strong client management skills and a strategic mindset. You will lead SEO initiatives for a portfolio of small business clients, delivering measurable improvements in organic traffic, rankings and conversions while nurturing client relationships and mentoring junior team members.

Main Responsibilities
  • Lead end-to-end SEO strategy for multiple client accounts, including technical audits, on-page optimisation, content strategy and link-building plans

  • Act as the primary point of contact for assigned clients, providing regular updates, insights and strategic recommendations

  • Conduct comprehensive technical SEO audits and work with development teams to prioritise and implement fixes

  • Develop content briefs and collaborate with content creators to ensure content aligns with keyword strategy and user intent

  • Plan and manage outreach and link acquisition campaigns that adhere to best practice and deliver sustainable results

  • Use analytics and SEO tools to monitor performance, identify opportunities and produce clear, actionable reports

  • Provide training, mentorship and day-to-day support to junior SEO and account team members

  • Collaborate with Paid Media and Creative teams to ensure integrated campaign approaches that drive client KPIs

  • Prepare and present strategic reports and recommendations at client meetings, demonstrating ROI and next steps

  • Stay up to date with algorithm updates, industry trends and competitor activity to inform client strategies

Essential Knowledge and Experience
  • 3-5 years' experience in SEO, ideally within an agency environment managing multiple client accounts

  • Proven record of improving organic traffic, rankings and conversions for clients

  • Strong technical SEO skills including site architecture, crawlability, indexation, schema and performance optimisation

  • Experience with keyword research, content strategy and on-page optimisation

  • Familiarity with major SEO and analytics tools (e.g., Google Search Console, Google Analytics, Ahrefs, SEMrush, Screaming Frog)

  • Excellent communication skills with experience presenting to clients and stakeholders

  • Strong project management abilities with an aptitude for prioritising tasks across multiple accounts

  • Analytical, data-driven mindset with the ability to translate insights into clear actions

Desirable
  • Experience working with e‑commerce platforms (Shopify, Woo Commerce, Magento)

  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS and basic JavaScript as they relate to SEO

  • Experience running local SEO and Google Business Profile optimisation
