We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our Regulatory Reporting Platform team. This role sits at the intersection of data engineering, software engineering, and regulatory compliance, and is accountable for building and operating reliable, auditable, and scalable reporting systems across multiple regulatory regimes.

The successful candidate will manage a multidisciplinary engineering team responsible for canonical data models, reporting pipelines, and submission services, ensuring regulatory deadlines are met while maintaining high engineering and operational standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own the end-to-end delivery of regulatory reporting systems, from source ingestion to regulator submission and audit evidence
  • Lead the design and evolution of a canonical data model supporting multiple regulatory regimes
  • Ensure reporting platforms meet accuracy, completeness, timeliness, and auditability requirements
  • Balance regulatory delivery with platform scalability, resilience, and technical debt management
  • Lead and develop a team of data engineers and software engineers
  • Own hiring, onboarding, performance management, and career development for the team
  • Foster a strong culture of ownership, quality, and operational excellence
  • Oversee development of data pipelines and transformations using modern data tooling
  • Implement strong data quality controls, lineage, and metadata to support audits and investigations
  • Collaborate with Compliance and Risk to translate regulatory requirements into engineered data outputs
  • Own backend services supporting regulatory submissions, report generation and validation, evidence, attestations, and regulator responses
  • Ensure services are resilient, observable, and secure
  • Apply sound distributed systems principles, including idempotency, retries, and failure handling
  • Collaborate with platform and infrastructure teams on CI/CD, environments, and reliability
  • Act as the engineering point of accountability for regulatory audits and reviews
  • Clear audit trails and evidence packs
  • Champion controls-first engineering and strong data governance practices
Required Qualifications
  • 2+ years in an Engineering Manager or similar leadership role
  • Experience in regulated industries such as fintech, payments, banking, or financial services
  • Proven ownership of production‑grade, business‑critical systems
  • Cloud experience (we are on AWS)
  • Strong experience with modern data platforms (e.g. Snowflake, Big Query, Redshift)
  • Hands‑on experience with dbt and workflow orchestration (Airflow / Astronomer or equivalent)
  • Canonical and dimensional data modelling
  • Data quality, reconciliation, and controls
  • Auditability, lineage, and metadata management
  • Strong backend engineering background (e.g. Java, Python)
  • Experience building API‑driven services and data‑intensive applications
  • Solid understanding of distributed systems and event‑driven architectures
  • Familiarity with CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and production operations
