About

The Role

The Senior Business Manager is a key leadership role within the Technology Division, reporting directly to the Chief Technology Officer (CTO). This position blends financial management, regulatory accountability, and strategic business support. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the technology budget, ensuring regulatory resilience under DORA, implementing project time attribution, and overseeing vendor and contract management.

The role requires a unique mix of financial acumen, regulatory awareness, and the ability to partner closely with technical and business leaders. The Senior Business Manager will act as a strategic business partner to the CTO, providing clear reporting, actionable insights, and effective governance to help shape the division’s operational and financial performance.

Responsibilities
  • Financial Management & Strategic Planning:
    Act as the primary liaison between the Technology Division and Finance. Manage and track departmental budgets, forecast future spending, and perform detailed analyses of both OpEx and Cap Ex. Identify cost‑saving opportunities, drive efficiencies, and provide variance and ROI analysis to support board‑level decision making.
  • Project Lifecycle & ROI Analysis:
    Lead the business analysis efforts for new initiatives, from concept to post‑implementation review. Conduct ROI analysis to justify project proposals, ensure alignment with business objectives, and recommend strategic adjustments to maximise project value.
  • Project Time Attribution & Reporting:
    Implement and manage timesheet processes so that technology staff time is attributed accurately to projects. Use this data to provide clear visibility on project costs, portfolio performance, and investment returns, enabling stronger prioritisation and accountability.
  • Process Improvement:
    Continuously review and refine business processes within the Technology Division and across the wider organisation. Streamline workflows, improve collaboration, and enhance the efficiency of project delivery and operations.
  • Vendor & Contract Management:
    Act as the commercial owner for all technology suppliers and outsourcing partners. Negotiate contracts, oversee SLAs, manage renewals, and ensure continuity and exit strategies are in place in line with the company’s Business Continuity and Third‑Party Risk frameworks.
  • DORA & Operational Resilience:
    Own Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA) compliance for the Technology Division. Maintain oversight of ICT risk management, incident reporting, and third‑party resilience, embedding operational resilience into daily practices and ensuring readiness for audits or supervisory requests.
  • Stakeholder Communication & Reporting:
    Prepare and present concise reports and executive‑level presentations on financial performance, project status, vendor performance, and resilience metrics. Translate complex technical and financial information into clear insights for the CTO, senior executives, and board members.

  • Experience:

    Minimum of 7-10 years as a business analyst, with significant experience in a senior or lead role. Proven track record of managing technology budgets and leading complex projects.
