Role description

We are seeking an experienced Solution Architect with deep hands‑on expertise across cloud, data, and application architecture
, specifically within Asset Management and broader Banking/Financial Services domains.

The ideal candidate will combine strong technical leadership with practical development experience, having evolved from a hands‑on developer into a seasoned architect.

This role requires defining end‑to‑end solutions, shaping architecture standards, driving data platform modernization, and ensuring secure, scalable, cloud‑native delivery.

Location: London

Hybrid working model: 3 days work from Client office in Central London

Employment type: Permanent role - ONLY

Domain: Asset Management

Candidate preference: Candidates with lesser notice period and full work authorization in the UK will be given preference.

Key Responsibilities

• End‑to‑End Solution Architecture
• Define enterprise‑grade solutions across infrastructure, data, integration, and applications
• Own architectural integrity from concept to implementation.
• Produce architectural design artefacts, patterns, and decision records.
• Provide technical leadership to engineering teams and ensure alignment with enterprise standards.

Data Architecture & Engineering

• Lead architecture for data platforms, ensuring robust Data Governance, Data Quality, lineage, metadata management, and analytics capabilities
• Hands‑on experience across:
• Data modelling & data pipelines (ETL/ELT)
• Data Lakes & Data Warehouses
• Data Management & Data Governance
• Data Analytics & BI enablement
• Deep familiarity with Asset Management data elements and applications such as Aladdin, Markit
  
  EDM, Bloomberg, etc.

Cloud Architecture (AWS Focus)

• Architect and implement AWS‑native solutions leveraging EC2, S3, Lambda, API Gateway, RDS, Cloud Formation
• Build cloud‑native data platforms and core infrastructure for analytics workloads.
• Lead cloud migration, re‑platforming, and modernization (IaaS → PaaS → SaaS).
• Drive adoption of SaaS models, multi‑tenancy, and cost‑optimized cloud architectures.

Application, Integration & Modernization

• Integrate enterprise applications using APIs, microservices, event‑driven patterns, messaging, and middleware (e.g., Kafka, SNS/SQS)
• Modernize monolithic systems to cloud‑native architectures.
• Ensure non‑functional requirements (security, resilience, performance) are fully addressed.

Domain Leadership – Asset Management / Banking

• Apply architectural best practices within regulated Financial Services, especially Asset Management, ensuring compliance, auditability, privacy, and data security
• Engage business, product, and technical stakeholders to align architecture with domain needs.

Technical Leadership & Delivery

• Drive technical delivery and mentor engineering teams
• Conduct architecture reviews, solution assurance, and risk assessments.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams in Agile/Dev Ops environments.

Required Skills & Experience

• 10+ years in technology roles, with 5+ years as a Solution Architect.
• Strong background as a hands‑on developer (Java/.NET/Python) before moving into architecture.
• Deep expertise in:
• Data Architecture, Data Engineering, Data Governance, Data Management, Data Analytics
• AWS Cloud Infrastructure & Services
• Cloud migrations and SaaS adoption
• Integration patterns and API architecture
• Experience in Asset Management and exposure to systems like Aladdin, Markit
  
  EDM.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, security, compliance, and cloud cost optimization.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.

Preferred Qualifications

• AWS Solution Architect certification (Associate/Professional)
• TOGAF or equivalent enterprise architecture certification
• Experience with Snowflake/Databricks/Power BI or similar analytics
