THE ROLEWe are looking for an experienced Database Administrator (DBA) with extensive knowledge of Azure SQL and SQL Server, along with a good working knowledge of Oracle, to join our DBA Services Team. This role is pivotal in supporting customer application teams and cloud migration projects, ensuring stability, performance, and security of data platforms across multiple clients. You will manage and maintain database servers within Microsoft Azure and on‑premise environments as part of ongoing BAU operations in a shared services setting.
The ideal candidate will be passionate about modernising SQL platforms in the cloud and committed to continuous improvement and resilience of our data services.
- Perform database maintenance and administration tasks across SQL Server and Oracle environments.
- Install, configure, and upgrade database software; maintain documentation for Azure and on‑premise systems.
- Monitor database activity and resource usage; optimise performance and forecast resource needs.
Use database management tools to collect performance statistics, investigate issues, and produce reports. - Draft and maintain procedures and documentation for databases; ensure compliance with standards.
- Deliver assigned projects on time, meeting technical, quality, and financial KPIs with minimal client disruption.
- Manage risks and mitigation strategies; work with auditors and implement recommendations.
- Collaborate with operational teams to resolve major incidents and ensure continuity of ICT services.
- Participate in Change Advisory Board meetings to provide specialist input.
- Respond to incidents and service requests promptly, following ITIL service management procedures.
- Drive proactive maintenance and automation to minimise service degradation and maximise performance.
- Stay updated on trends and best practices in database technologies and associated applications.

ABOUT YOUThe ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to problem‑solving.
The Ideal Candidate- Advanced SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases, query authoring (SQL), and performance tuning.
- Strong experience with SQL Server (all supported versions), including SSRS and SSIS.
- Good working knowledge of Oracle Database Administration (all supported versions) and RMAN.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in an operational DBA role.
- Hands‑on experience with Microsoft Azure, including Azure SQL and cloud migration projects.
- Familiarity with Windows OS environments.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills; ability to perform root cause analysis.
