AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on.
We are expanding our Infrastructure Operations team and seeking Data Center Technicians to collaborate with software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles.
In This Role, You’ll:- Serve as a primary technical resolver for data center infrastructure challenges
- Work within the Data Center Operations (DCO) team to maintain IT infrastructure and hardware
- Develop expertise in various hardware and software troubleshooting scenarios
- Lead resolution of infrastructure issues and coordinate with solution teams on complex cases
- Help drive continuous improvements
This position includes shift work and may require rotation between locations.
Key Job Responsibilities SAFETY- Follow and maintain the highest safety standards and diligently encourage a world-class safety culture. Own the safety initiatives and projects to foster a strong safety culture.
- Diagnose hardware and network problems followed by physical repairs
- Troubleshoot events within internal Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
- Perform root cause analysis of equipment failures
- Manual handling and lifting of equipment may be required (weight limits in accordance with regulations)
- Work rotating shifts (morning/late/night) as well as weekends to maintain the 24/7 data center environment (If applicable)
- On-call rotation reaction to off‑duty emergency calls (if applicable)
Data Center Operations designs, installs & maintains the world’s largest Cloud Computing Infrastructure.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS- High school or equivalent diploma
- Experience with networking and computer hardware troubleshooting and repair
- Access to your own vehicle
- Bachelor's degree in information technology or computer science
- Basic knowledge of Linux and experience with network protocols
