Permanent | Full-Time | Specialist SEND School
We are supporting a high-performing specialist SEND school in appointing a permanent HR Officer to join their central support team. This is a key role within a school that places strong value on staff wellbeing, safeguarding, compliance, and professional development

The successful HR Officer will play a critical part in supporting a diverse workforce across education, therapy, and support services in a complex SEND environment.
The RoleAs HR Officer, you will be responsible for:
- Managing end-to-end recruitment processes (advertising, shortlisting, onboarding)
- Overseeing safer recruitment and safeguarding compliance
- Supporting employee relations matters, including absence, performance, and conduct
- Maintaining accurate HR records and ensuring GDPR compliance
- Advising leaders on HR policies, procedures, and best practice
- Supporting staff wellbeing initiatives and professional development processes
- Liaising with external bodies (e.g. Local Authority, payroll providers)
This is a hands‑on role requiring strong organisation, discretion, and confidence in a school‑based HR setting.
Who We’re Looking ForThis role would suit an HR Officer who:
- Has experience working in HR within education, SEND, or a public sector setting
- Has strong knowledge of employment law and safer recruitment
- Is highly organised, detail‑oriented, and professional
- Can work calmly and effectively in a busy, people‑focused environment
- Is confident communicating with staff at all levels
CIPD qualification or progress toward one is desirable but not essential.
Requirements- Proven experience in an HR or people‑focused role
- Strong understanding of safeguarding and compliance
- Ability to commit to a permanent, full-time position
- 2 years of relevant employment references
