Schroders’ two-year apprenticeship programmes give school and college leavers a hands‑on introduction to investment management and the opportunity to develop key skills, gain professional qualifications and build an industry network. We have a wide range of opportunities across our business.

Investment
20/20

You will join as an apprentice as part of the Investment
20/20 programme. You will have opportunities to meet and network with trainees and apprentices across the industry, as well as participate in behavioural and technical skills training, socials and insight events.

The department

Schroders Capital offers access to a broad range of private market investment opportunities, portfolio building blocks and customised private market strategies. Our diversified range of investment strategies includes real estate, private equity, secondaries, venture capital, infrastructure, securitised products and asset‑based finance, insurance‑linked securities and impact investing.

Schroders Capital Infrastructure is umbrella term for the infrastructure equity investment capabilities across the Schroders Group’s private markets business, which encompasses team members at Schroders Greencoat LLP in the UK and other regulated entities throughout the Schroders Group internationally. Collectively, this comprises a team of over 130 staff with a presence in 8 countries across Europe, the United States and China and has invested over €16.5 billion into ca.

450 energy transition assets at various project stages, with an aggregate capacity of around 7.7GW.

The Team

The HR team is responsible for ensuring that Schroders Greencoat maximises the return on its investment in people and does this through the development and implementation of policies and practices that attract, reward, and retain high quality employees, to achieve business objectives in line with our values and strategic goals.

You will join a small team of experienced, committed, and supportive professionals who consistently produce high‑quality work and deliver exceptional service to stakeholders.

What you’ll do

HR Operations

You’ll play an important role in making sure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes. You’ll support the day‑to‑day processes that keep our people experience running efficiently – from onboarding new joiners to helping employees throughout their time at Schroders Greencoat.

You will:

  • Help coordinate the onboarding journey for new joiners, including preparing welcome emails and first‑day checklists.
  • Be the first point of contact for basic HR queries via our shared inbox, working closely with colleagues to find the right answers.
  • Support employee lifecycle processes, such as transfers, exits, and internal moves, ensuring paperwork and systems are updated correctly.
  • Assist in preparing standard HR documents, such as reference letters or confirmations of employment changes.
  • Help with routine HR admin tasks, including managing digital employee files, logging absences, and updating checklists.
  • Support the team during busy periods such as performance reviews, salary reviews, and benefit renewals.
  • Work with the payroll team to track monthly changes, such as new joiners or salary adjustments.
  • Keep our HR manuals and guides up to date so they’re accurate and easy to use.
  • Take part in small projects to help improve how we do things and suggest ways to make processes more efficient.

Systems and Data

You’ll also get hands‑on experience working with the HR systems and data that support our people and policies. This is a great opportunity to build your technical skills, learn how we use data to inform decisions, and understand the importance of accuracy and confidentiality.

You will:

  • Enter and update employee data in our HR system to keep records accurate and up to date.
  • Run basic reports and summaries – for example, to check who’s joining, moving roles, or leaving the business.
