Event Manager / Planner
The Guest Experience and Events Manager is responsible for leading the Events & Guest Experience team, overseeing the planning, coordination, and delivery of all group bookings, private charters, Celia Private Dining experiences, and British Pullman‑owned special events.
This role brings together event delivery, front‑of‑house excellence and guest experience management, ensuring every journey is executed to the highest luxury standards and aligned with Belmond brand values.
Primary Responsibilities- Lead and develop the Guest Experience and Events team, setting clear priorities, ways of working, and service standards.
- Provide line management and strategic direction to the Groups & Charters Manager and Guest Experience Curator (Celia).
- Ensure clear understanding of responsibilities between external client management (Groups & Charters), Celia clients, and internally curated experiences.
- Act as the central coordination point between Sales, Operations, Onboard, Marketing, and External Partners for all experience‑led delivery.
- Proven experience in luxury events, experiential hospitality, or high‑end client delivery, ideally within hotels, private members' clubs, trains and/or destination experiences.
- Strong leadership background managing multi‑disciplinary teams across planning, front‑of‑house, and client delivery.
- Demonstrated experience overseeing complex events or journeys with multiple stakeholders and high guest expectations.
- Confident decision‑maker with strong judgement in guest‑facing and high‑pressure environments.
- Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills, both internally and with discerning clients.
- Highly organized, detail‑driven, and comfortable balancing creative ambition with operational discipline.
- Experience working with guest feedback platforms, service recovery, and quality assurance frameworks.
- Comfortable working flexibly across locations including HQ, depot, stations, onboard, and excursions.
