Job Overview

We have a vacancy for an enthusiastic, ambitious diagnostic radiographer to join our friendly and forward‑thinking Radiology team. This is an ideal opportunity for an HCPC registered radiographer wishing to increase their radiographic experience and expertise in a bustling and team‑focused department.

Our internal training and support have long been a draw for candidates as it has enabled numerous radiographers to develop the necessary skills for career progression and advanced practice.

If you are a radiographer with a passion for patient‑centred care, we would like to hear from you.

Duties and Responsibilities

The duties and responsibilities of the post holder require service delivery in a wide range of clinical environments to patients with a diverse array of presentations. Our service is delivered on a 24/7 basis and includes working in areas such as the:

  • Accident & Emergency department
  • Operating theatres
  • In‑patient and out‑patient areas
  • Neonatal unit
  • Intensive care units

Radiographers may be required to work across Trust sites, and may involve lone working in particular areas or specialities and at particular times.

Patient presentation will include the unconscious, uncooperative, incapacitated, incompetent, disorientated, and those with physical and mental disabilities. A wide variety of patients will be encountered and will include those exhibiting anti‑social or threatening behaviour.

Other influencing factors include the skills needed to provide patients or relatives with empathy, and emotional support for the bereaved, terminally ill, injured, traumatised, those involved in suspected non‑accidental injury particularly the very young and the very old, or those whose capacity is altered by substance use/abuse.

A Band 5 Radiographer is regarded as basic grade clinical member of staff and, as such, will fulfil the requirements of their role within the imaging team.
