Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate within the Multidisciplinary Integrated Service at the Moor Lane Centre, including joint assessments, MDT reviews, hip surveillance, special school reviews, development of care pathways, and transitions.
- Provide medical advice to the Local SEND according to statutory legislation and guidance for children with special educational needs.
- Provide clinical supervision for junior medical staff based within the Integrated Service. This clinic-based work includes face-to-face and virtual assessments for new and review cases presenting with developmental concerns accepted through our single point of access (ITAC). Assessments consider possible diagnoses of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Developmental Coordination Disorder (DCD), Movement Disorders, Neuromuscular Disorders, and Globally Impaired Developmental Profile.
- Work includes assessment and ongoing management of children and young people with complex neuro-developmental needs including movement disorders and genetic conditions as part of the Multidisciplinary Team.
- Oversee and manage the Multidisciplinary team — coordinate and plan MDT meetings including Transition and Early Years focus with allied professional teams; help coordinate hip surveillance; carry out Special School reviews; lead on development of care pathways including transitions.
- Assess for Autism Spectrum Disorder as part of ASD assessment pathways. Work closely with colleagues in speech and language therapy and education following National Guidance for multidisciplinary assessment.
