Job summary
As an Audiologist you will be responsible for supporting your line manager in ensuring the clinical quality of the Adult Audiology Service, ensuring that our service users needs are met through the delivery of high quality care. The post holder will work unsupervised providing routine audiological assessment and rehabilitation to a wide range of patients. The role involves participation in supervision and training of students.
The post holder will be given training in more advanced techniques and must maintain continuous professional development whilst working towards higher levels of professional competence. We offer all of our band 5 audiologists the opportunity to observe all specialist clinics to support their decision making in their career development.
- Provide routine audiological assessment and aural rehabilitation for adults, including counselling to distressed patients about their hearing loss and associated problems, and make decisions about the most appropriate course of treatment (referring to senior staff when appropriate).
- Assist in the day-to-day running of the Audiology Service with a focus on maintaining high levels of health and safety.
- Maintain a programme of continuing professional development (CPD) working towards higher levels of professional competence.
- Contribute to maintaining UKAS accreditation through participation in competency assessments and audits.
