Position: Orthodontic Receptionist | Barts Health NHS Trust
Location: Greater London

Overview

We are seeking to recruit a Receptionist on a fixed-term basis, for the Orthodontic department – Whipps Cross Hospital, as a part time position, for 22.5 hours per week, Monday, Thursday and Friday, including early starts (8.45am).

The successful candidate will work with the Orthodontic team, based at Whipps Cross University Hospital, Barts Health, but may be required to work across other sites if service needs are to be fulfilled. We are looking for a professional and reliable individual to provide an efficient and effective Reception service to patients and visitors. You will be confident in dealing with confidential issues and be able to provide excellent customer service, ensuring patients are accurately recorded on to the Trusts IT system.

You will have strong interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities
  • Provide an efficient and effective Reception service to patients and visitors for the Orthodontic department.
  • Work with the Orthodontic team, based at Whipps Cross University Hospital, and may work across other sites as required.
  • Be the first point of contact for Patients and Carers, face to face and over the telephone.
  • Book appointments and outcome attendances on the Trust IT system; update patient data regularly.
  • Retrieve, prepare and file patient notes daily.
  • Receive, date stamp and register new patient referrals daily, in preparation for Consultant vetting, and distribute general post accordingly.
Qualifications / Skills
  • Professional and reliable with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Confident in handling confidential information and delivering excellent customer service.
  • Experience with IT systems for patient data and appointment bookings.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and across sites as required.
  • Part-time availability (22.5 hours per week) with early starts as needed (8.45am).
