We are seeking a Contracts Negotiator to support researchers across Imperial's Faculty of Medicine by drafting, reviewing and negotiating research‑related contracts. This role is ideal for people who understand the language of contracts – whether from the NHS, charity, public sector, higher education or another research‑support environment.
Main duties of the job- Managing your own portfolio of research contracts
- Reviewing financials and project protocols to understand the research and ensure appropriate contractual terms
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating research and related agreements
- Supporting researchers and departments to move projects forward efficiently and compliantly
The Joint Research Office (JRO) supports the research community across the Faculty of Medicine. Our specialist Contracts Team advises on terms and conditions for externally funded medical research projects, helping ensure our researchers can deliver work that improves health outcomes globally.
What we need from you- Experience in contract negotiation, agreement review or similar administrative roles, particularly requiring attention to detail and stakeholder management
- Understanding of contracting areas such as intellectual property, confidentiality, publications, liabilities and other related areas
- Proactive, service‑focused attitude and ability to influence and negotiate with various stakeholders effectively
- Experience managing your own workload and meeting deadlines
- Educated to degree level or equivalent qualification
