AboutThe Job
The Wellbeing Referral Programme Coordinator plays a key role in the delivery, development, and evaluation of the University’s expanding Wellbeing Referral Programme.
This role focuses primarily on leading exercise referral delivery to students, staff and external stakeholders, and engagement with students, staff, and external partner organisations, providing 1-to-1 wellbeing consultations, physical activity guidance, and behaviour-change support. Alongside this, the postholder will contribute to on-campus wellbeing referrals, Active Campus activities, and wider engagement programmes.
The role combines direct participant support, stakeholder relationship management, and data-led programme evaluation, helping to ensure that referral activity is impactful, sustainable, and aligned with best practice. Flexibility is essential, as the role includes off-campus delivery, outdoor activities, and a rota that may involve evenings and weekends.
Essential Experience Includes- Delivering wellbeing, fitness, or physical activity support in a health, leisure, or wellbeing setting
- Providing 1-to-1 consultations using behaviour-change approaches
- Delivery of group wellbeing sessions or support group activities
- Working with sensitive information in a confidential and professional manner
- Capturing, analysing, and reporting programme or participation data
- Engaging confidently with a wide range of stakeholders, including students, staff, and external partners
You are a confident and motivated wellbeing professional with a strong interest in physical activity, behaviour change, and mental wellbeing. You are comfortable working both independently and as part of a wider team, and you enjoy balancing hands-on delivery with planning, analysis, and partnership working.
You bring experience from a health, fitness, leisure, or wellbeing environment and are confident delivering 1-to-1 consultations, group sessions, and engagement activities. You are organised, digitally confident, and able to use data to inform decisions and demonstrate impact.
You are equally comfortable supporting individual participants, working with corporate or community partners, and contributing to a collaborative university environment. Flexibility, professionalism, and a genuine commitment to inclusive wellbeing practice are essential for success in this role.
