Do you have a passion for teaching, assessing, and developing staff?
We have an exciting new role for a Clinical Practice Facilitator within our Children and Young People's General services team for a keen and motivated individual.
The service covers areas including day care, outpatients, a paediatric and an adolescent ward. You will work across all areas, however we are looking for someone with a passion and experience of working with adolescents to complement our existing team, and work alongside our paediatric educator, adolescent and day care ward manager.
Main duties of the jobThe successful applicant will demonstrate a level of enthusiasm and commitment that will support the development of our qualified staff to develop their professional goals and clinical skills. You will also demonstrate a proven record of clinical teaching in both informal and formal settings and will have well established assessment skills.
Interested candidates should have highly effective interpersonal skills demonstrating an ability to work with a diverse team of professionals. You must have excellent organisational skills and be able to meet tight deadlines.
Candidates should be ambitious individuals who are interested in driving our children and young people's services forward. If you are forward-thinking with the motivation to progress and have an eye for performance and delivery, then we are looking for you.

Person Specification Knowledge and Qualifications- Registered Children's Nurse Part 1
- Practice assessor training
- Teaching course
- Management training course/leadership course
- Master's Degree (Level
7) or be working towards.
- Extensive experience in acute clinical care in paediatrics and adolescent practice
- Experience in teaching and assessing nursing skills and/or theory
- Demonstrates evidence of well-developed clinical practice
- Able to deliver evidence-based practice as a nurse and educator
- Able to support staff in acquisition of essential and expanded clinical skills
- Able to adjust content, pace and support to meet the diverse needs of learners whilst maintaining high standards for all.
- Able to use IT to disseminate information e.g. e-mail, Power Point, Excel, MS Teams.
- Demonstrates understanding of principles and practice of Clinical Governance, e.g. Risk Management
- Advocates for the paediatric and adolescent division Trust wide.
- Uses a range of communication tools and strategies to effectively deliver education.
- Demonstrates evidence of professional development in line with NMC, maintains updated portfolio
- Reflective in Practice
- Manages own workload
- Experience of managing resources
- Able to instigate and make changes in practice within own division/trust wide.
- Organise and deliver local induction for CYP nursing staff
- Willing to support MDT members in skill acquisition
- Identifying staff development needs and formulating robust educational plans to address these, in conjunction with line managers.
- Demonstratable understanding of the Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion and or Knowledge of the NHS obligations under the Equality Act 2010 and the Public Sector Equality Duties
- Lead on paediatric critical care L1 and L2 provision/education within the paediatric and adolescent division
- Has L2 PCC training (L6 HDU module/Accredited HDU module/ APLS/EPALS) or working towards.
- Demonstrate ability to meet Trust Values of safety, kindness, teamwork and improving

£56,276 to £63,176 a year Per annum inclusive of HCAS Pro Rata
