We are pleased to offer an exciting internal opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic Band 6 nurse to join the team as a Practice Development Nurse.

This role will support the development and delivery of high-quality clinical education and professional development initiatives across the service with a key focus on Professional Standards .

The successful candidate/s will work closely with clinical teams to promote best practice, enhance staff competencies, and contribute to a culture of continuous learning.

Main duties of the job

To promote within the wards a learning environment that optimises each staff's clinical development and facilitates a 'best practice' principle for patient care that is evidence based.

Be a role model and maintain clinical expertise to support learners, support teaching and assessment of learning in the practice area.

Work in the clinical environment for up to 80% of contracted hours providing holistic direct nursing care alongside other staff needing support and development. Up to 20% of time will be required to teach on development programmes and plan educational support. Under the supervision of the Band 7 Practice Educators to develop/contribute to the development teaching materials and presentations.

Provide specialist nursing advice, supporting and facilitating high quality, individualised care to patients /clients and relatives/carers in collaboration with the multi professional team, in line with the local and national targets.

Ensure that care of the patient and their relatives is of the highest standard and based on best practice guidelines

Demonstrates the ability to personally be a role model in providing a high standard of care based on the best evidence.

  • Evidence of continued professional development
  • A good level of teaching experience

  • Post Graduate Certificate of Education
Experience
  • Proven experience as a clinical nurse
  • Strong leadership and management skills

  • Experience of working collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team
  • Understanding/Experience of Training Needs Analysis
