Band 4 Clinical Pathway Navigator - Neurology
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Neurology department at Royal Free London. The successful candidate will be expected to work within a team of Patient Navigators or Clinical Pathway Administrators and be responsible for the smooth running of the patient journey from referral to discharge. This will be achieved by ensuring that coordinated and streamlined administrative processes revolve around the patient and their individual needs.
This post will be a 12-month fixed term contract. It will also be offered as a secondment opportunity where appropriate.
Main duties of the jobThe Neurology service is looking for a dynamic and resilient clinical pathway navigator to join our team. This is a pivotal role within the team and will be supported by the Clinical Pathway Manager. You would be responsible for maintaining service delivery and improvement within the department.
Be able to work within a multi-disciplinary team, supporting medical and nursing colleagues within the department
Be proactive, enthusiastic, and resilient Be able to support and reassure patients attending the Neurology service
The successful candidate will be based at our Hampstead site, and will be required to demonstrate the Trust values, the responsibilities of the job description and person specification and in particular have experience of working with various staff groups and excellent communication & organisational skills.

Person Specification Education and professional qualifications- English and Maths at GCSE level or equivalent.
- Courses/further study attended to demonstrate evidence of personal development
- Degree or diploma level qualification or professional equivalent
- Experience of managing and prioritising workloads and working to deadlines
- Experience of working in a fast-paced, pressured environment
- Previous experience of working with patients in a healthcare environment
- Previous administrative experience
- Previous experience of working with the public
- Experience of using Cerner
- Excellent organisational skills with meticulous attention to detail
- Excellent customer care practice, being polite, sympathetic, patient and diplomatic
- IT literate
- Strong working knowledge of MS Outlook
- Highly proficient in the use of Excel
- Understanding what is meant by patient confidentiality
- A confident communicator (excellent written aptitudes and verbal skills)
- Ability to learn and assimilate information quickly and easily
- Awareness of National and Trust pathway targets (such as 18 week RTT target)
- Proactive, forward-thinking, quick problem solving attitude.
- Team work and ability to develop strong collaborative working relationships within different teams and relevant administrative, clinical and management staff

£33,094 to £36,195 a year
