An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full-time Senior Receptionist, with a minimum of one year experience in a receptionist role, to join the Emergency Department team at Whipps Cross University Hospital.
The Emergency Department is a very busy and dynamic working environment. Our highly skilled team of consultants, doctors, nursing and other clinical and support staff work to provide specialist, streamlined care for children and adults with a vast range of conditions. We aim to assess all patients as quickly as possible upon arrival.
Main duties of the jobTo provide a front of house customer service to all patients, relatives and visitorsattending the Emergency Department, Minor Injuries Unit, SDEC, Clinical Decisions Unit,and Acute Assessment Unit.
Support the clinical teams in the delivery of safe, effective and patient-centered care by undertaking a wide range of administrative and clerical duties.

Person Specification Experience- Experience in an admin role.
- Previous experience in a customer-facing position and of dealing with public both face to face and on the phone.
- Experience of working with population form a diverse background.
- Experience of working in a clinical environment.
- Good organizational skills
- Ability to priorities workload and manage time effectively.
- Ability to work flexibly to meet service needs in all areas of the Emergency Department including clinical areas.
- Aptitude to learn new IT skills.
- An ability to work effectively within a team.
- Ability to remain calm and work under pressure to tight deadlines
- A demonstrable understanding of the importance of confidentiality
- Have good knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications
- Knowledge of CRS
- Literate and numerate with a minimum of GCSE or equivalent in English and Mathematics
- Must be able to do shifts working a full 24/7 rota including night shift day shift late shifts, weekend and bank holiday working.
- Self-motivated, confident, well organized and enthusiastic
- Able to use their own initiative yet be able to work well within a team.
- Demonstrate understanding of patient care and communication
- Demonstrate understanding and compassion towards distressed patients/relatives,
- Have a flexible and adaptable approach punctual and reliable.

- Be able to communicate with multi agency staff and users.
- An ability to maintain confidentiality and understanding of the rules around managing patient data.
