Job Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a developmental post for Advanced Nurse Practitioner Band 7/8A, depending on experience, to join the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust Breast services (RFL). We are looking for an innovative and transformational leader who seeks to further their nursing career within breast services. The expectations of the post will be demonstrated across the four pillars of consultant level practice: expert advanced clinical practice, strategic and enabling leadership, learning, developing and improving across the system, research and innovation.

The role is pivotal to working collaboratively with the MDT team, building capacity and expanding the nurse led services to further shape and deliver the strategic vision of a world class Breast Service for our local population.

The post holder will be an experienced practitioner, acting within their professional boundaries. The post holder will have the skills associated with history taking, physical assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and evaluation of care as well as nurse prescribing. They will provide expert, efficient and safe patient care whilst working under the supervision of a consultant. They will demonstrate clinical judgement and critical decision‑making skills based upon evidence‑based practice and will work collaboratively with consultants, breast nurses and the wider multidisciplinary team to meet the urgent care needs of patients.

• Master's in Advanced Clinical Practice or working towards
• Breast examination and client communication
• Independent Supplementary Nurse Prescribing Course
• Physical assessment course
• Qualification in breast cancer care
• Registered Nurse

• Specialist knowledge of Breast Care
• Broad range of clinical expertise and experience in a variety of breast/oncology settings
• Evidence of recent/up to date professional development, change management and leadership skills
• Experience of research and audit process

• Ability to work as an individual within a multi‑disciplinary team
• Able to manage own caseload independently and without supervision
• Ability to deliver teaching sessions in formal and informal settings
• Ability to use initiative to resolve issues / problem solving skills
• Ability to work in a pressurised environment and manage stress in self and others
