Staff Nurse; BAND 5 - Outpatients

The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust is one of the leading cancer centres in the world and has an international reputation for the care and treatment it provides. The Royal Marsden serves a local, regional, national, and international population from two hospital sites, Chelsea, and Sutton.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed Band 5 staff nurse to join our nursing team to provide expert care and support our patients in the Outpatients department, at the Chelsea site. The department manages multi‑speciality medical/ surgical oncology clinics including chemotherapy and radiotherapy. The phlebotomy service is also run by the Outpatient team.

The post holder will work in the outpatient department; it is open Monday‑Friday 08.00 – 18.00.

To plan, document, deliver and evaluate evidence‑based nursing care for patients in a responsible and efficient way, which has been drawn up in conjunction with the co‑ordinator of the shift.

To develop a greater awareness and understanding of the needs of patients with cancer and the different treatment modalities administered within the unit.

To develop an understanding of the roles and responsibilities of managing a shift with the guidance of the Ward Sister/Charge Nurse.
