Job Summary
The Trust is building a talent pool of appointable Clinical Advisor EOC (Validators) to work in the Clinical Assessment Service in the Emergency Operations Centres in Bedford, Chelmsford or Norwich as vacancies arise. Applicants must be Paramedics or Nurses (adult nursing qualifications required). The role is full‑ or part‑time permanent, ideally on our core rotas, with a minimum of 18.75 hours per week, and includes an initial 3‑week full‑time training period.
Clinicians must work either the Norwich or Chelmsford Control Rooms – remote or agile working is not supported.
This role intercepts lower acuity and clinically appropriate 999 calls, provides advice, and arranges safe and appropriate care pathways. The aim is to reduce ambulance demand and A&E admissions while supporting the development of a multi‑disciplinary Regional CAS. The successful applicant will hold an NMC nursing registration or HCPC registered paramedic qualification.

- Locations:

- Current nursing registration with the NMC or paramedic registration with the HCPC.
- Two years post‑registration experience in a clinical environment.
- Experience in A&E, medical or primary care settings.
- Previous experience of face‑to‑face or telephone triage.
- Ability to handle highly distressed callers effectively.
- High level of IT and telephony dexterity.
- Critical analysis skills, demonstrating knowledge of differential diagnosis during assessment.
- Experience of audit, evaluation and clinical governance.
