Overview
Hub Monitoring & Response Officer – fixed term until 30/06/2026
Peffermill Industrial Estate
Salary: £26,337 - £28,835 (pro-rata for part-time)
Hours:
16 per week, 52 weeks
- Assist in providing emergency and support services to Edinburgh Telecare service users.
- Offer advice, information and liaise with other council departments and outside agencies.
- Visit users in their own homes, provide assistance and care to vulnerable adults.
- Answer calls from service users on the computerised calls handling facility, assess the nature of an emergency call, prioritise the level of urgency and respond accordingly.
- Drive to users’ homes, identify the extent of practical and emotional support required, and liaise with emergency services and other statutory/non‑statutory agencies.
- Provide emergency assistance – First Aid, resuscitation, personal care and safer moving and handling using specialist equipment.
- Develop knowledge of Assistive Technology Enabled care equipment and devices, support users through demonstration and assist the team with installation and repairs.
- Maintain accurate records and statistics, manage confidential information appropriately.
- Work to a 24/7 rota, including 12‑hour day and night shifts; unsocial/shift allowance payments up to £7,400 per annum.
- Valid UK driver’s licence.
- Regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007 – must join or update PVG Scheme.
- Overseas criminal record check if spent 3 months out of UK within the last 5 years.
- Ability to work flexibly and resiliently within a close‑knit team.
- Treat confidential information with care, maintain professionalism and compassion.
16 hours per week, 52 weeks, with flexible working options available.
Unsocial/shift allowance up to £7,400 per annum.
