Overview
This is an exciting role for a Trial Manager to join The Cancer Research UK Cancer Prevention Trials Unit (CPTU) at Queen Mary University of London. The CPTU specialises in the design and delivery of large-scale trials in cancer screening, prevention and early diagnosis. Our research typically involves complex, multi-centre studies with large and diverse populations, often delivered through decentralised models.
The Wolfson Institute of Population Health (WIPH) is a dynamic environment supporting population health, primary care and preventive medicine research.
As Trial Manager, you will play a key role in the planning, coordination and delivery of clinical study(s) within the CPTU. We are looking for an experienced and proactive individual to manage trial operations, ensuring the smooth and efficient running of large-scale clinical trials that contribute to high-quality research and impact public health and clinical practice.
Responsibilities- Coordinate participant recruitment, enrolment and retention strategies.
- Manage site engagement and trial governance.
- Work closely with the wider project team, investigators and external partners.
- Oversee trial timelines, budget adherence and regulatory compliance to ensure study objectives are met.
The Wolfson Institute of Population Health (WIPH) houses 450 staff, 100 PhD students and 500 postgraduate taught students, with six research centres aligned to population health, prevention and education. The Centre for Cancer Screening, Prevention and Early Diagnosis (CCSPED) is part of WIPH and hosts related groups and the CRUK-funded Cancer Prevention Trials Unit (CPTU, Director, Sasieni).

The starting salary will be Grade 5, in the range of £44,288–£51,755 per annum (pro-rata), inclusive of London Allowance.
