IGH aims to support the development of robust solutions to aspects of the world’s major global health challenges through scholarly outputs, education, public engagement, translational research, and ultimately by influencing public policy and professional practice.

The Lancet Countdown in Europe is the Regional Centre of the Lancet Countdown, working to develop indicators on climate change and health for Europe, and translate their evidence into policy-informing action.

Role summary

About the role

The appointee will join the Secretariat of the Lancet Countdown, an international and multi-disciplinary research collaboration based out of University College London’s Institute for Global Health and contribute to the contributions of IDAlert towards the Europe Lancet Countdown.

The postholder will work with the Head of Policy to contribute to engagement with technical officers across key stakeholder organizations and with policy officers within our partner universities.

Qualifications and experience

About you

It is essential that the successful candidate has Masters’ level degree in political sciences, international relations, public health, sustainable development or a related subject, or equivalent experience.

They will also have proven experience in policy engagement, advocacy or public affairs at a regional, national, or sub-national level, ideally within European policy contexts along with technical knowledge of European diplomacy and policy processes, and policy engagement techniques within European settings. They will also be experienced in the translation of technical information to inform policy priorities and recommendations, specifically in the development of health policy, policy briefs or technical policy reports as well as policy outreach and stakeholder engagement.
