Practitioner Psychologist: Paediatric NEST | Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust

Position Summary

We are delighted to be recruiting to a full‑time B7 Practitioner Psychologist in the Paediatric Psychology Service at the Evelina London Children’s Hospital. This is a temporary post funded until the end of September 2026 due to secondment cover within the team. The post, based within our Non‑Embedded Specialties Team (NEST), is an exciting and varied role providing a wide range of experiences and opportunities across a number of different medical specialities, including general medicine, orthopaedics, surgery, haematology, and plastics.

We are looking for a motivated psychologist with an interest in working with children, young people and families with complex health conditions experiencing associated psychological distress or difficulties, as well as in working with professional colleagues in a collaborative manner to provide high‑quality holistic care.

The role requires both inpatient and outpatient working. Direct clinical input to young people and families, group work, MDT working, team liaison, and staff consultation are all fundamental elements of the work offered by NEST.

The post sits within Paediatric Psychology Services, which offers good opportunities for collaborative working, audit, research, teaching and training. We meet regularly as a team to explore clinical dilemmas and share new learnings and developments. Supervision will be provided by an experienced Psychologist within the team.
