About Woman’s Trust

Woman’s Trust is the leading specialist mental health charity supporting women affected by domestic abuse. For nearly 30 years, we have provided free, trauma-informed, women-only mental health support across London. Our services are client-led, confidential, and rooted in feminist and survivor-centred practice.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced arts-based therapeutic facilitator to deliver creative workshops for mothers who have experienced domestic abuse and their children aged 5–12.

The workshops use creative and expressive activities to support emotional regulation, strengthen mother-child relationships, and aid recovery from trauma. Sessions are delivered in a group setting and designed to be flexible, inclusive, and responsive to participants’ needs.

This is a sessional role, ideal for practitioners seeking flexible work alongside other clinical, therapeutic, or creative practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver trauma-informed, arts-based therapeutic workshops for mothers and children
  • Facilitate safe, supportive group spaces that encourage emotional expression and connection
  • Lead grounding and closing activities to support emotional regulation
  • Prepare session materials and support set‑up and clear‑down
  • Work in line with Woman’s Trust safeguarding policies and procedures
  • Respond appropriately to disclosures and wellbeing concerns
  • Complete basic session records and contribute to monitoring and evaluation
  • Attend supervision and relevant training as required
About You

You will be a skilled and reflective practitioner with a strong understanding of trauma and domestic abuse, and experience working creatively with children and parents together.

  • Willingness to undertake an enhanced DBS check
Desirable

  • Experience working in the VAWG or domestic abuse sector
  • Experience working with children aged 5–12
  • Lived or professional experience that informs trauma-aware practice
What We Offer
  • Flexible sessional work
