The post holder will work as a member of the Private Patient team and play a significant part in the ongoing development of this new facility. Our clinic's weekday working hours run from 8am to 8pm, with varying shift patterns.

All Wimpole Street staff rotate to the Royal Brompton site. This rotation is mandatory, as it provides exposure across multiple sites and helps consolidate echocardiography skills.

The post holder will perform a range of echo examinations. The role offers applicants the opportunity to remain up-to-date with new developments and trends in 3D echocardiography, stress echocardiography, contrast studies, and strain imaging.

The post holder is expected to work as an effective and responsible practitioner, supporting others and the wider team, in a flexible and approachable manner.

The Trust has a well-established and strong brand within the private patient sector. In 2016, RB&HH Specialist Care invested in a new private outpatient and diagnostic clinic, centrally located in the Harley Street medical area.

The Wimpole Street Diagnostic Services Department has an exceptionally high staff satisfaction rating, with all team members valued and respected for their unique contributions to a world-class service. The facility is equipped with a wide range of state-of-the-art technology, including echocardiography, X-ray, ultrasound, PET-CT, MRI, CT, non-invasive testing, and lung function services.

To independently perform adult transthoracic Echocardiograms in accordance with the departmental protocol.

Write comprehensive clinical reports in a timely manner and escalate any new findings for clinical review.

Manage own CPD including BSE accreditation

Establish and maintain good working relationships with all members of the organisation.

Maintain patient confidentiality in line with the Trust policies.

Actively participate in MDT meetings

Ensure that all equipment is in working order and promptly report faults without delay.

Evaluate and assess new equipment prior to purchase in collaboration with the Echo lead.

Have an awareness of the health and safety implications for Echocardiographers in relation to ergonomics whilst scanning and take all necessary steps to minimise injury to oneself.

• Demonstrate essential experience of performing and reporting echocardiograms independently
• Years of experience
• Knowledge and practical experience in at least one specialist area e.g. stress echo, congenital heart disease
• Knowledge of practical understanding of using advanced echo modalities e.g. 3D, strain
• Experience of leading a small project within a team e.g. QA, audits, patient experience funds
• Experience of multiple site rotation

• Use of different Echo scanners from different vendors
• Experience of applying theory into practice
• Experience of verbally or written communication with various stakeholders e.g. consultants, admin, other allied health professionals
• Presentation at conference or MDT

• BSE, European or equivalent accreditation qualification in specialist area
• Demonstrate experience in managing clinically unstable patients
• ILS certification
