We have a vacancy on the Neonatal Transfer Service London for a Senior Band 6 Clinical Technologist with a minimum of 3 years significant technical experience in the management, maintenance and performance checking of complex specialist medical equipment. Join London’s only dedicated neonatal transfer service and contribute to a specialist team caring for a range of sick neonates who require transfer across London and beyond.
To be part of a Neonatal Engineering Team, you will provide support and maintain specialist clinical equipment at the Neonatal Transfer Service (NTS) and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) in Royal London Hospital, Barts Health NHS Trust.
Responsibilities- Provide specialist clinical technical support through planned preventative maintenance, repair, calibration, safety and acceptance testing on a wide range of specialist medical equipment in NTS and NICU, ensuring equipment is monitored, safe and functional for clinical use.
- Maintain the information on the medical equipment management database for the site, ensuring records are accurate and up to date to support service planning and delivery.
- Maintain clear communication within the department and with stakeholders, addressing the unique challenges of NTS and NICU.
- Ensure audits, PPMs, database records and related activities are regularly maintained and updated; identify and escalate risks and practice good governance; implement the departmental ISO
9001 QMS. - deputise for the Lead Clinical Technologists as required, maintaining standards of service delivery.
- Maintain and develop own technical skills and competence by identifying and agreeing clear training needs and objectives through the Trust’s appraisal system.
- Minimum of 3 years significant technical experience in the management, maintenance and performance checking of complex specialist medical equipment.
- Role:
Senior Band 6 Clinical Technologist within a neonatal transfer service environment. - Experience with in neonatal settings and the ability to work as part of a small, specialized team.
