Sonographer; Bank

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

• Current HCPC Registration
• Minimum 2 years Ultrasound experience within the NHS
• Experience in performing/reporting the following sonographic examinations:
  Abdominal, Renal, Gynaecology, (Transvaginal, Transabdominal)
• Experience in Gynae required

Duties of this role include:

• To actively participate in the efficient and safe operation of the Imaging Department, providing a consistent, high quality ultrasound service to all patients
• To carry out diagnostic ultrasound scans within their scope of competence as agreed with the Clinical Services Manager - Imaging / Clinical Lead to high technical and quality standards.
• Manage the designated working area and ensure that it is tidy, clean and efficiently run.
• Use initiative to prioritise, deliver and time‑manage workload effectively.
• As requested, assist clinical modality leads to plan and maintain an effective workflow within the department.
• Ensure that the sonography examination results meet the clinic standard for quality assurance before findings are released for interpretation.
• Function as a technical or clinical leader/expert in sonography.
• Accountable for the creation, oversight, and implementation of scanning protocols and quality control activities
• Provide technical, image quality, and accuracy oversight for the assessment of sonography examinations.
• Ensure that appropriate accreditation is secured and maintained.
• Carry out quality assurance protocols and quality improvement measures.
• Pursue and maintain cutting‑edge technical and clinical updates.
• Establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with co‑workers, administrators, and other members of the external health care providers.
• Responsible for day‑to‑day operation of sonography services within the clinic.
• Sonography education, training, and experience in Gynaecology ultrasound.
