We invite applicants for a senior medical statistician to contribute to the "Big Data for Cardio‑Oncology" programme funded by the Wellcome Trust. The research leverages multiple large cohorts to advance our understanding of cardiovascular and multi‑organ health in cancer survivors. A series of integrated projects are planned, requiring application of advanced statistical methods and proficiency in handling large biomedical databases.
The post‑holder will work alongside the PI to lead the development of statistical analysis plans, conduct data analyses, and lead/contribute to presentations, publications, and future funding proposals. They will work within a highly collaborative, interdisciplinary team and contribute to the training and supervision of research fellows and doctoral students. Professional development of the candidate will be strongly supported.
We seek an experienced statistician with expertise in medical statistics applied to large cohorts and linked healthcare data. Experience in cancer and/or cardiovascular research is highly valued. A track record of interdisciplinary collaboration is desirable, as is experience with student supervision or teaching.
The Centre for Advanced Cardiovascular Imaging, based at the William Harvey Research Institute (Charterhouse Square Campus), is closely linked to St Bartholomew's Hospital—a leading centre for cancer and cardiovascular care. The Centre delivers internationally competitive research through epidemiologic and machine learning methods to large biomedical multiomic databases, including unique expertise in handling large medical imaging databases. There is a strong focus on mentorship and career development.
This post will support the "Big Data for Cardio‑Oncology" programme, led by Dr Zahra Raisi‑Estabragh.
