Overview

We are seeking a passionate and committed clinical or counselling psychologist to join our Mental Health Integrated Network Team (MINT) in Hammersmith & Fulham. MINT is a multidisciplinary service providing holistic support and treatment to adults presenting with a range of mental health difficulties within a stepped-care framework. This post is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic early-career psychologist looking to develop and consolidate specialist clinical skills in working with complex needs, trauma and personality disorder diagnoses.

In addition to working 1-1 with clients, a significant part of this post involves embedding and developing psychological principles and thinking within the work of the whole MDT. Therefore, we require a candidate who thrives in a team environment and is passionate about dissemination of psychological thinking, consultation and leadership.

Responsibilities
  • Provide highly specialist assessments and treatment for individuals with complex mental health conditions, both 1-1 and in groups.
  • Embed and develop psychological principles and thinking within the MDT; provide psychological consultation and guidance to the whole MDT, and offer supervision and training for trainee and assistant psychologists.
  • Promote psychological ways of working within the MDT and support service developments, audit and research to drive and sustain service quality.
  • Collaborate with trainee psychologists, local doctorate courses and a network of psychological colleagues across the Trust.
  • Engage with service users from varied cultural backgrounds, including those seeking asylum, using interpreters when necessary; contribute to equality of access to services and an understanding of migration-related psychological needs.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Clinical or counselling psychologist with eligibility for chartership or registration, and a passion for working with complex mental health conditions.
  • Experience or interest in trauma, personality disorders and complex presentations; comfortable working in a stepped-care framework.
  • Strong teamwork skills with a commitment to MDT working, dissemination of psychological thinking, consultation and leadership.
  • Ability to contribute to audit, research and service development; capacity to engage with training of trainees and assistant psychologists.
  • Commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion and to improving access to services for all service users.
