• Contribute to the timely and efficient Molecular Diagnostics service within the Clinical Genomics Department, for both internal and external cases.
• Perform analysis using complex genetics software and report specialised molecular investigations.
• Manage areas of existing service work in the laboratory, ensuring high‑quality diagnostics for haematological and solid tumours.
• Standardise new technologies and tests for molecular diagnostics, and continually develop the test range.
• Liaise with clinicians, oncologists and histopathologists responsible for patient care.
• Lead service development and validation, including the implementation of clinical NGS and other protocols for personalised cancer medicine.
• Supervise junior staff to guarantee quality of service provision and professional standards compliance.
• Support quality management activities, including laboratory accreditation standards, training and the department’s translational research programme.
• Assume sole responsibility for laboratory work on occasions.

• MSc in a biological science or equivalent.
• HCPC state registration or close to registration.
• Considerable experience in molecular diagnostics service delivery.
