Job Overview
The BBV Health Adviser and Pathway Coordinator post is to provide clinical support and pathways into care for BBV (HIV, Hepatitis B, and
C) positive patients tested under the Emergency Department Opt-Out BBV Testing Project. There are two vacancy holds at different locations: one at the Sexual Health Centre in Hounslow and the other on the Chelsea side.
- Provide information for clients diagnosed with BBV infections, including HIV, and support and onward referral as required.
- Facilitate partner notification and management for these clients, encouraging attendance of potentially infected contacts at a GUM service.
- Manage the patient pathway for all patients with reactive blood borne results who were tested in the ED departments.
- Track and monitor the treatment pathway for BBV patients.
- Collect data and provide regular reporting of clinic links for patients with a positive BBV test.
- Collate reports and updates for clinical leads when requested.
- Develop and maintain supportive relationships with the hepatology team.
- Exchange relevant information about clients and contacts with other sexual health clinics as necessary.
- Take histories from clients and refer to relevant members of the multi‑professional team as part of the care pathway.
- Provide initial HIV post‑test discussion/support for clients who have a reactive or positive HIV test, ensuring linkage to HIV outpatient services and facilitating onward referrals.
- Support partners, significant others, and immediate family of newly diagnosed HIV clients, including partner notification, testing, and disclosure.
- Maintain accurate client records in accordance with Trust policies and procedures.

Other InformationEmployment is subject to a six‑month probation. Some roles may require weekend shifts at multiple sites.
