Overview
A full time Senior Cognitive Behavioural Therapist / Counselling Psychologist / Clinical Psychologist post has arisen in Ealing NHS Talking Therapies. Ealing Talking Therapies is a dynamic and innovative service that aims to improve access to psychological therapies for the population it serves. The borough of Ealing is diverse, and as a pathfinder site we have worked to make psychological therapies culturally appropriate and accessible to the BME community.
We operate from modern premises with a large team including Assistant Psychologists, Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners (PWP), Counselling/Clinical Psychologists, and counsellors. We are engaged in initiatives to reach hard to reach groups through group therapy, outreach work, community engagement and creative workshops embedded in the community to de-stigmatise mental health. We offer all Talking Therapies modalities: EMDR, BCT and Couples Therapy, Dynamic Interpersonal Therapy (DIT), Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT), and Counselling for Depression (CfD).
Applicants trained in an additional modality are strongly encouraged to apply.
- Provide or contribute to high-quality psychological services within the Talking Therapies framework, including supervision of other staff where appropriate.
- Participate in supervision structures: weekly individual supervision, a duty system for urgent issues, and daily assessment debrief sessions to support timely decisions and care pathways for service users.
- Be flexible to work across different locations in Ealing and Southall, with one required evening shift to ensure accessible service provision.
- Contribute to the development of the Talking Therapies service and provide supervision to other CBT therapists.
- Engage with initiatives to reach older adults, people with long-term health conditions, and the BME population; participate in group work and community engagement activities as appropriate.
- Qualified in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Counselling Psychology, or Clinical Psychology and eligible for appropriate professional registration.
- Trained in an additional modality is strongly encouraged to apply.
- Special interest in services for older adults, long-term health conditions, the BME population, and group work is desirable.
- A second language would be advantageous.
