Note:

- Provides clerical and administrative support to the pharmaceutical ordering system, processing over 20,000 orders per year for medicines throughout the organisation.
- Places and processes orders for pharmaceutical products, validates invoice prices and processes these for payment.
- Places orders for medicines on the pharmacy stock control computer system in line with NHS Contracts and sends through GHX Powergate.
- Liaises with suppliers to source products, which may involve arranging urgent deliveries and liaising with Pharmacy Technicians for Procurement if difficulties arise.
- Updates the departmental bulletin board with “To Follow” information and cascades information as appropriate to managers.
- Sourcing suppliers, raising, processing, chasing, confirming and checking prices of medicines.
- Passe invoices and credits for payment and maintains a database for non-stock orders and payments to facilitate budgetary management.
- Filing purchase orders to correct locations and assists with the storage and retention of Pharmacy documentation.
- Assists in the counting and ordering of medical gases.
- Assists in processing invoices.
